Water treatment process is a multistage practice to make drinking water suitable for human use. One of the critical units or processes in water treatment plants is filtration.
Due to life development and intensive industrialization, amount and types of pollutants have been multiplied and increased. Thus, in the recent developed contaminated world, treatment of water using a granular sand filter is not an effective method for water treatment anymore. Therefore, we claim more effective filtration method.
Membrane filtration has been introduced in last two decades as a new effective water filtration technique. In this seminar, membrane filtration technique will be presented, different types of membrane filters and function and limitation of each type will be discussed with the constraints and limitation of each type. Finally, concerns will be discussed regarding the membrane filtration technique.
