Nanomedicine has multiple applications including the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Zinc oxide nanocomposites are among the most useful metal nanoparticles in this approach. Physical, chemical, thermal, mechanical properties, and also suitable surface characteristics, make zinc nanoparticles to offer a great potential in many biomedical applications, such as cellular therapy, tissue repair, drug delivery, and gene therapy. The unique and novel properties of zinc oxide nanoparticles using natural plant product is to decrease drug expenditure, drug administration, side effects and improved efficacy of diagnosis, targeting, and treatment of tumors.

Collectively, the exposure of cancer cells to Zinc oxide nanocomposites produced significant cytotoxicity, with an apoptotic response, but not in a normal cell line. Thus, providing new opportunities for safe delivery of Zinc oxide nanocomposites and application in anticancer therapy.
