Komar Research Center and Accounting Department at Komar University have arranged a workshop for Dr. Mustafa Hassan, the chairman of accounting department, on “Evaluating the Bank Performance by Using Financial Analysis” on Tuesday, May 23rd, 2017
A bank should be defined by what it does; in this case, banks are generally those financial institutions offering the widest range of financial services. Hence, financial analysis is a scientific tool, which assumed an important role for appraising the real worth of an enterprise such as a bank, its performance during a period of time and its pit falls. Therefore, any commercial ban can be evaluated through a framework for evaluating bank performance (either internal or external performance), presentation of bank financial statements and analyzing bank performance with financial ratios (profit and risk ratios).
The main objectives of the workshop were, first, to provide basic points related to commercial banks in general to banks’ employees, academicians, students, and a common man, second, exchange views, share knowledge and have a clear idea banking sector functioning, and lastly, give a clear view of how the financial stamens’ of banks are different from others, and how to analyze them via standardize and ratios.
The workshop ended with question/answer session and the presenter was awarded the certificate of appreciation by VP of Academic Affairs.
