Komar Research Center and Civil Engineering Department organized a workshop on new technologies and materials that are used in building and constructions for the faculty members and students of Civil Engineering Department (CVE) on Monday, May 8th, 2017.
The instructor was Dr. Jwamer Omer Rahim, a highly regarded specialized civil engineer in materials and building construction. Dr. Jwamer led the workshop. The main goal of the workshop was to equip the students of CVE with practical skills when they are working on building construction.
Many topics were covered during the workshop, including cold or hot weather concreting, concrete curing, type of concrete curing, concrete finishing, waterproofing, thermal insulations, Expoy and its applications in practice and casting big concrete quantity.
The faculty members and students actively participated in the workshop, and their questions were answered by the instructor. At the end of the workshop, Chairman of Civil Engineering thanked Dr. Jwamer for his valuable workshop, and he was awarded the certificate of appreciation by Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Jalal Saeed.
