Dr. Heshu Rahman presented a seminar on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017 about the natural product from plants that can be extracted and used as a medicine as well as for treatment of cancer.
Dr. Heshu is a chairwoman of Medical Laboratory Sciences Department at Komar University, and she holds Ph.D. in hematology and clinical pathology from the University of Putra Malaysia. She has published dozens of high-quality papers in international journals.
The seminar focused on herbs that have therapeutic values, so-called herbal medicines. Herbal medicines involve using raw or processed herbs to achieve therapeutic objectives. The Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) includes medical herbs such as fruits, vegetables, legumes, herbs, and spices containing many biologically active phytochemicals with various health promoting effects. It has long been established traditionally that a fresh diet rich in natural beneficial compounds may help in the prevention of various diseases. Although diet is not a cure for most of the diseases, it may help prevent some diseases from developing, while avoiding some of the adverse effects from conventional treatments.
There was an interactive question and answer session at the end of the seminar, and director of Komar Research Center thanked her for presenting the seminar.
