On Sunday, December 18th, 2016, Komar Research Center with the cooperation of Department of Petroleum Engineering and SPE Komar Student Chapter has arranged a training workshop for PTE faculty members and students on “Casing and Cementing Design and Well Control Practices”. In addition, participants from Koya University and Erbil universities have participated in the workshop.
Mr. Rebeen Nasruldeen (Drilling Engineer) from TAQA Global Company has led the workshop and presented cases that students will face in their future careers when they work for oil companies. Mr. Rebeen holds a Master degree from Curtin University, Australia, and holds IWCF (Level 4) Supervisor level which makes him a very qualified engineer.
Experiential lectures are valuable for students to understand their right career path. These workshops provide a valuable idea about the practical working environments in order to develop their knowledge and background to become future Kurdistan leaders.
The workshop has mainly focused on practical field experience for both Casing and Cementing jobs while drilling oil wells as well as some simulation flashes and pictures of tools, equipment and accessories related.
KUST president, Dr. Salah Aziz, and Chairman of Petroleum Engineering, Dr. Hamid Zadeh, thanked Mr. Rebeen for outstanding performance to transfer his practical knowledge to the future generation and presented him with the certificate of appreciation from Komar Research Center.
