Dr. Ahmed Gheni, a faculty member in the Civil Engineering Department, recently published a paper titled ‘Three-dimensional Technique for Accurate Pavement Macrotexture Measurement Using Surface.’ His research explores 3D pavement macrotexture measurement using ISO 25178 Surface Volume Parameters (SVP), focusing on optimizing cutoff thresholds for precise texture analysis. The proposed method shows a strong correlation with the sand patch mean texture depth (MTD). Dr. Gheni presented his findings at KUST’s E-Auditorium Hall on January 30, 2025.
