On Sunday, April 23rd, 2017, Komar Research Center with College of Engineering in collaboration with UNDP have organized a workshop on “Sustainable Use of Energy and Addressing the Climate Change Challenges” with Mr. Osama Kassamani, a distinguished speaker with many years of experience in the international organizations such as United Nations.
The workshop has opened with a short speech by Dr. Ako Rasheed, chairman of Civil Engineering Department, followed by the speech of Mr. Ibrahim Baba-Ali from United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
Mr. Osama Kassamani lead the workshop with his enjoyable talk and interactive seminars on the sustainable use of energy and addressing the climate change challenges we face now in Kurdistan Region and how we come up with sustainable, cheap ideas to manage it and reduce our footprints, for example, using less electricity, minimizing solid waste production and saving water.
There were many questions and comments from the participants. The participants came up with innovate solutions to help Kurdistan Region has a sustainable future. The solutions will be submitted soon for the competition that is organized by the Local Area Develop Program of UNDP.
